PYRAN^® Platinum fire-rated glass-ceramic offers stunning optical quality with superior clarity and virtually no distortion. It was designed especially for the North American market for use in fire-rated doors and windows. PYRAN^® Platinum is the only fire-rated glass-ceramic that is made without the use of hazardous heavy metals.
PYRAN Platinum is intended for use in non-impact, safety-rated locations with fire-rating requirements up to 90 minutes.

Neoceram ® & Pyroceram ®
Today's high efficiency stoves and fireplaces produce intense heat. Ordinary tempered glass withstands temperatures up to approximately 500° F, however higher levels of heat may cause it to crack, shatter or explode.
With the transparency of glass and the heat-resistant characteristics of ceramic, ceramic products like Neoceram® & Pyroceram® can tolerate continuous temperatures up to 1292° F - nearly three times the heat resistance of tempered glass. These products also have almost a zero thermal expansion making them an excellent choice for applications when there is the probability of high heat and cold shock. Choice of product may be determined by required size.

Additional heat resistant products -

Tempered Glass - 1/8", 3/16",1/4", 3/8",1/2", & 3/4" thickness

Borosilicate - 1/8", 3/16",1/4" thickness

Mica - a fire proof, infusible, incombustible and non- flammable and can resist temperatures of 600-C to 900-C,depending on the type of mica. It has low heat conductivity, excellent thermal stability and may be exposed to high temperatures without noticeable effect. .003-.005" thickness

Fiberglass Gasketing material products are fire-protection & impact-safety rated & intended for use in safety-rated locations such as door lites, transoms or side lites, and windows with fire-rating requirements up to 90 minutes (up to 180 minutes in doors). PYRAN^® Platinum F is a specially floated glass-ceramic with surface applied 3M Scotchshield* Ultra Film, and PYRAN^® Platinum L is a laminated specially floated glass-ceramic. Gaskets are used with glass - fitting between the glass and the metal parts
